Hello! Welcome to Delta Gamma at the Pennsylvania State University’s website! I hope that this website is able to provide for you a glimpse of our unique sisterhood inside the Alpha Chi chapter. We are a group of 194 women that have come together as proud Penn Staters, classmates, to share the gift of friendship, and sisters of a bond that includes 146 collegiate chapters internationally!
The Delta Gamma Fraternity was founded in 1873 on the bases of creating friendship among women, promoting their cultural and educational interests, creating a true sense of social responsibility, and developing the best qualities of character of each of our sisters. Since establishing our chapter at Penn State in 1930, we continue to strive to uphold the values of our founders and seek to “Do Good” every day.
As both sisters of Delta Gamma and active members of the Greek community, we pride ourselves in the service we do for our university and surrounding area. We have so many amazing opportunities to get involved both on and off campus, and have built an incredible support system for our sisters to get involved. Delta Gamma has its own philanthropy called Service for Sight, which raises money to provide support for the blind and visually impaired. We also participate in THON, Greek Sing, Greek Week, and Homecoming every year, which serves as a fantastic way to unite as a Greek community for a greater cause. We are very proud of the diversity within our chapter; we come from all across the country and world and have had the opportunity to bond in our sisterhood by our common ideals. The women in our chapter are involved with a number of different student organization and we are so proud of their service and leadership!
I could not be more proud to call myself a Delta Gamma. My college experience and life as a whole has been impacted by the incredible home away from home that I have found here in State College. The women that I surround myself with and have the privilege to call sisters empower me every day to be true to myself, take chances and risks, and make a difference. I have found guidance and lifelong friendship from them, and for that, I am infinitely grateful to Delta Gamma for bringing these women into my life. The opportunity to be mentored, and now, to lead these extraordinary women has taught me great things about myself and I cannot imagine my life without Delta Gamma and the women in the Alpha Chi chapter.
Coming to Penn State with 46,000 undergraduate students, it can be second nature to feel overwhelmed. Joining Delta Gamma helped me to find my place in such a large student body and I hope you can find your home here too!
“Do good. And good will come to you.”
